A Two Book Review

This week

I will be doing a two-book review. One of the books goes over how to budget your money so that you can take yourself from barely surviving to be on top.

The second book goes into how to get money back through tax deductions so that you can find tons of savings which will keep more money in your pocket.

This post will go through each book in detail along with giving you other resources that you can use and end with some final thoughts.

If you are struggling to make ends meet and are looking for ways to make things a little easier without having to work harder then you will want to read this post.

With that, let’s jump on in.

Financial Improvement

When we are first starting out as young adults most of us do not have a good sense of how to use our money. It is as simple as getting paid and having fun.

However, as we get older and take on more responsibility we start to learn there is a lot more than just making money and having fun and this is when we start learning how to improve our financial standing and how to get the most out of our hard earned dollars.

The first book I will dive into will help you to spend your money wisely and keep track of what you are spent and where you are spending it.

It is entitled I was broke and now I’m not.

Book One

I was broke and now I’m not was actually a book I was given. The person gave me this book stating “it was the best financial budgeting book they had ever read”. So I read it from cover to cover and This is what I found.

  1. Introduction – getting to know the author and his story ( his name is Joseph Sangl aka Joe)
  2. The catalyst for change- In this chapter, he explains how he starts to make different decisions in hopes to improve his financial standing.
  3. There must be a plan – this is where he starts to break down how to really start improving your financial standing by changing your mindset.
  4. Why do you want financial freedom? – opens up to really break down your income as he gives you step by step ways to do that.
  5. It’s EZ to budget – Show you step by step the process of budgeting and where you can start making improvements in your budget.
  6. Weekly budgeting – goes into more detail by breaking it down into weekly spending to give you an even more comprehensive look into your income and spending habits.
  7. Seasonal budgeting – opens your eyes to that occasional spending so that you can be more prepared for it.
  8. Budgeting tips – this chapter’s title tells you what you need to know.
  9. Savings – this is where he shows you how you can even start building up savings for those what if kind of scenarios.
  10. Debt freedom – explains the steps you can take to get completely out of debt.
  11. Investing and compound interest – this goes into how to make your money work for you so you do not have to work so hard for your money.
  12. Insurance – This goes into the importance of having Insurance.

In this 120 page book, I would say Joe gives you a complete step by step look of how to take yourself from down and out to standing tall and completely flush with cash.

If you are struggling to stay up with your bills and the daily demands of your money then I would encourage you to read this book.

Book Two

My second book is called 7 simple ways to legally avoid paying taxes. This book is written by Sandy Botkin. I happen to scroll past it on my facebook page one day and since I have been looking for ways to handle my own books it caught my eye.

When I signed up for this book I also got a 45-minute webinar that basically outlined the book in detail. So I can tell you that I really did not have to read this 45-page book from cover to cover but I can tell you I learned tons of information that I did not know so it was worth the $7 I paid for it.

This book opens your eyes to all kinds of tricks you can use to get deductions on your taxes at the end of a year. Which matters to most people but too small business owners it means even more. This book breaks it all down for you in detail, what you can do and how to do it step by step. If you are interested in finding out more you can visit Sandy’s Blog

Here you can stay up to date on his latest advice along with other opportunities that he will offer you.
